Overview

The dYdX Chain operates based on the CometBFT consensus mechanism, placing validators at the forefront of committing new blocks by broadcasting votes. Initially launched with 25 validators, the number of validators in the active set on dYdX Chain depends on the max validators parameter that is subject to change by dYdX Chain governance. Both validators and their delegators earn protocol-based rewards for bolstering network security.

Running a Validator on the dYdX Chain

The dYdX Chain, an integral component of the dYdX ecosystem, relies on a decentralized network of validators to maintain its integrity and functionality. Validators are at the heart of this blockchain, ensuring it operates efficiently, securely, and transparently. As you consider becoming a validator, it's crucial to understand the responsibilities and potential risks associated with this role.
